Community Guidelines

Welcome to the Fight Swipe community! These guidelines are designed to ensure that our platform remains a positive, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all fighting enthusiasts. By using Fight Swipe, you agree to follow these guidelines in all interactions within our community.

"At Fight Swipe, we're passionate about combat sports and believe in creating a space where fans can engage with the sport they love in a meaningful, respectful way. Our community is built on mutual respect, fair play, and a shared love of fighting."

These guidelines apply to all areas of Fight Swipe, including user profiles, prediction leagues, comments, direct messages, and any other interactive features. We're committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive community, and we expect all members to help us in this mission.

Our Core Community Principles

Respect

Treat all community members with respect, regardless of their background, experience level, or prediction accuracy. Disagreements are natural, but they should always remain civil.

Safety

Everyone deserves to feel safe in our community. Harassment, threats, and intimidation have no place on Fight Swipe and will not be tolerated.

Fair Play

Compete honestly and with integrity. Cheating, manipulating results, or gaming the system undermines the experience for everyone.

Inclusivity

Our community welcomes fans of all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and orientations. Discriminatory behavior of any kind is strictly prohibited.

Constructive Communication

Share your knowledge, ask questions, and engage in meaningful discussions that enhance everyone's appreciation and understanding of combat sports.

Accountability

Take responsibility for your actions and words. Everyone makes mistakes, but how we respond to them matters just as much.

Fighter Respect

While critical analysis of fighters is welcome, personal attacks against athletes are not. Remember that fighters are real people who put their health on the line for our entertainment. Criticism should be focused on performance and technique, not personal characteristics or attacks.

League Conduct

Private and public leagues should be spaces for fair competition and enjoyable interaction. To ensure leagues remain positive experiences:

League Creators Should:

  • Clearly communicate league rules to all participants
  • Enforce rules consistently and fairly
  • Address conflicts promptly and impartially

  • Maintain transparency in all decisions

League Participants Should:

  • Follow the established rules of the league
  • Submit predictions honestly and on time
  • Engage in fair play and avoid collusion
  • Be gracious in both winning and losing
  • Keep discussions related to the league and fights

Gambling and Monetary Transactions

Fight Swipe is not a gambling platform. While friendly competition is encouraged, leagues involving monetary stakes must comply with all applicable laws. Fight Swipe does not facilitate payments between users, and we recommend caution when entering into any financial agreements with other users. Users participate in such arrangements at their own risk.

Direct messaging is a feature intended to enhance community building and facilitate league organization. To ensure a positive experience:

Appropriate Messaging:

  • League invitations and coordination

Protecting Your Information

Be cautious about the personal information you share on Fight Swipe. While we take security seriously, you should never share sensitive personal or financial information with other users, even in private messages.

Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates our Community Guidelines, we encourage you to report it. Your reports help us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

1

Identify the Violation

First, determine which guideline has been violated. This helps our moderation team address the issue appropriately.

2

Use the Report Function

Most content on Fight Swipe can be reported directly by using the "Report" option in the dropdown menu found on user profiles, comments, or messages.

3

Provide Details

When reporting, provide as much relevant information as possible. The more context we have, the better we can address the situation.

4

Submit and Wait

After submitting a report, our team will review it as soon as possible. Please be patient, as review times may vary based on volume.

For serious violations that require immediate attention, or if you're unable to use the in-app reporting function, please contact us directly at moderation@fightswipe.com.

Guideline Enforcement

We take our Community Guidelines seriously and have implemented a tiered enforcement approach to address violations. Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, actions may include:

Warning

For minor first-time violations, we may issue a warning explaining the violation and how to avoid it in the future.

Temporary Restrictions

Repeated or more serious violations may result in temporary restrictions to certain features, such as commenting or messaging.

Suspension

Significant or multiple violations may lead to a temporary account suspension, during which you cannot access the app.

Permanent Ban

Severe violations or a pattern of persistent rule-breaking may result in permanent account termination.

We believe in fairness and context when enforcing guidelines. Our moderation team considers factors such as intent, history, and severity when determining appropriate actions. Users who believe a moderation decision was made in error can appeal by contacting appeals@fightswipe.com with relevant details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I post videos of fights on Fight Swipe?

No, you should not post full fight videos or extended clips that may violate copyright laws. Fight organizations own the rights to their content, and unauthorized sharing may result in legal action against you and/or removal from the platform.

Brief clips (under 15 seconds) used for analytical discussion may be acceptable under fair use principles, but we recommend using publicly available sources for any fight footage you reference.

How do I create a private league without violating guidelines?

Private leagues are a great way to compete with friends while staying within our guidelines:

  • Set clear, fair rules for all participants
  • Ensure any prizes or stakes comply with local laws
  • Maintain respectful communication
  • Do not engage in collusion or manipulation
  • Use the in-app league tools rather than third-party methods

Remember that Fight Swipe doesn't facilitate monetary transactions between users. Any financial arrangements are made at your own risk and responsibility.

What's the difference between friendly trash talk and harassment?

The line between friendly banter and harassment can sometimes seem unclear, but there are key differences:

Friendly trash talk:

  • Is mutual and both parties are enjoying the exchange
  • Focuses on predictions and performance, not personal characteristics
  • Stops if someone expresses discomfort
  • Is contextually appropriate (e.g., among friends in a league)

Harassment:

  • Continues after someone has asked for it to stop
  • Contains personal attacks or discriminatory language
  • Is persistent and targeted at specific individuals
  • Makes others feel unwelcome or unsafe

When in doubt, err on the side of respect. If you're unsure how someone will receive your comments, it's better to be more reserved.

How quickly will my report be reviewed?

Report review times vary based on several factors:

  • Severity of the reported issue (urgent safety concerns are prioritized)
  • Current volume of reports
  • Complexity of the situation

While we aim to review all reports within 24-48 hours, some may take longer to thoroughly investigate. For urgent issues involving immediate safety concerns, please email us directly at moderation@fightswipe.com with "URGENT" in the subject line.

Can I appeal a moderation decision?

Yes, you can appeal moderation decisions if you believe they were made in error. To appeal:

  1. Email appeals@fightswipe.com from the email address associated with your account
  2. Include your username and the date of the moderation action
  3. Explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered
  4. Provide any relevant evidence or context

Appeals are typically reviewed within 5-7 business days. Please note that repeated or frivolous appeals may not receive responses.
